Chorley Advanced Motorists

The Courses

Our courses last at least 10 weeks. Some groups allocate one Observer to one Associate throughout the course, but we change round, so that an Associate will be guided by several different Observers during the course.

We meet every Sunday morning at 10.15 on the Cattle Market car park (also known as the Flat-Iron car park), between Booths and the railway station, next to the entrance to Market Walk.

All drivers only ever drive their own cars: Observers demonstrate techniques in their own cars, and Associates are guided while driving their own cars. Each session lasts for around an hour and a half.

There are two classroom sessions, one at the beginning of the course and one half-way through. We also have a "Meet the Examiner" event, where Associates meet the IAM Police Grade 1 driver who will take them through their test. The test takes about an hour and a half.

See the News page for the latest information on course start dates.
